Joy Ndungi

Joy Nyariara Ndungi is a Business Administration (BBA) student with a focus on Finance and Economics at the University of Toronto. She is a recipient of the prestigious International Scholar Award from the University of Toronto and the RBC Pathways Award, which recognise her academic excellence and leadership potential.

Joy has garnered valuable experience across several sectors, beginning with her role as a Summer Analyst at Torquest Partners, a private equity firm. She later participated in the Thrive Internship Program at Scotiabank, where she gained insights into Investment Banking and Capital Markets. Next summer, she is set to join the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) as a Pathways Scholar, working in their Capital Markets division. During the academic year, she balances her studies with her role as a Finance and Data Lab Assistant.

Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Joy is deeply committed to social impact and community building. In her senior year of high school, she founded Sisi Sasa, a non-profit organisation dedicated to ending period poverty, and Tusome Pamoja, a literacy initiative aimed at improving education in underserved communities. At university, she serves as the Co-President of the Black Students in Business Club and as a Portfolio Manager for Blackleaf Capital, a Canada-wide investment club. In her free time, Joy enjoys spending time outdoors, being with friends and family, and traveling back home to Kenya whenever she can.
