Anuna Nsekanabo Mohammed is a passionate writer and student of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at Universitätsmedizin Neumarkt Hamburg, Germany. Anuna’s academic excellence is shown with her third consecutive year on the Dean’s List recognised among the top 1% of her cohort in medical school. Anuna brings a versatility to the team through her involvement with Uganda’s New Vision Paper as a columnist writing on topics that range from the nation’s public to private sector. This position has sharpened Anuna’s research skills as she collaborates with senior editors to refine her publications whilst gaining invaluable insights into local current affairs.
Anuna’s passion for advocacy is showcased in her work with Informing S.A, an organisation helping survivors of gender-based violence in the global south, where she liases with pro-bono legal professionals to represent victims. Her analytical expertise with cases specifically in Kenya contributes to the organisation’s outreach objectives by educating communities on the semantics of domestic violence.
Anuna is driven to improve her medical expertise by interning in renowned Turkish institutions, namely Acıbadem Ataşehir Hospital and İstinye Üniversite Hastanesi Liv Hospital. As she continues to tailor her methods toward holistic healthcare, Anuna fosters interests toward initiatives that enrich the East African region through her writing.
