Amelia Achieng Midwa is a rising legal talent, having graduated with a First Class Honours in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Strathmore University. Her academic excellence has been recognised with multiple prestigious awards, including the IKM DLA Piper Award for the Best Female First Year, multiple Dean’s Awards for Academic Excellence and the Dean’s Award for the best overall undergraduate student in the School of Law upon graduation.
Amelia’s robust academic foundation is complemented by practical experience gained through various roles. These include her various positions in the Strathmore Law Review, most notably as the Editor in Chief of Volume IX, her participation in various International Moot Court Competitions and other legal competitions that have earned her multiple accolades, and her contribution to the Strathmore Law Clinic. She has honed her expertise across a diverse range of fields such as international trade law, international investment law, tax policy and research, and writing.
Her professional journey includes serving as a research assistant on three projects and legal intern at Dentons Hamilton Harrison and Matthews. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at the ILINA Program, focusing on the intersection between US Tort Law and AI governance, and a tax litigation intern at PwC Kenya. Amelia provides a blend of academic excellence, hands-on experience and specialisation in key areas.
