Victor Agaba
Associate, Technology Desk
Victor Agaba is pursuing a combined Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and Master’s in Computer Science at Northwestern University. He is an active researcher in applications of computational math and science. He is a pivotal part of multidisciplinary projects in fields like applied math where he used a high-performance computing cluster to characterise genomic models, and seismology where he modelled error distributions to improve estimation of quake mechanisms in data-sparse settings.
Professionally, he has worked in operations research at RelationalAI to integrate optimisation capabilities with cloud computing platforms and automate workflow for large scale efficiency. He was also a project consultant for C.H. Robinson, a transport logistics company, where he developed and implemented a model for client-manager assignments using computational optimisation techniques.
Aside from his academic and professional endeavours, Victor enjoys teaching, writing and public speaking. He published his first book, ‘Another Way to Look at It’, in 2021 with World of Inspiration (U) Ltd. At the university, he has taken up various tutoring and mentorship roles where he guides his peers both academically and holistically.
