Joseph Yiga

Joseph Dominic Yiga is a committed analyst and Chemical Engineering student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (BSc). With a focus on energy and sustainability, Joseph aims to contribute to the advisory team as he builds on the technical expertise gained through his academic journey. 

As a Process Engineering Intern at the Uganda National Oil Company, Joseph applied artificial intelligence tools such as Aspen HYSYS to optimise refinery processes – demonstrating a strong capacity for innovation and efficiency in industrial operations. Additionally, Joseph has completed internships in sourcing at a specialty chemical company in Minnesota, US, and quality control at a steel manufacturing plant in Kampala, Uganda. This diversified his experience in supply chain management and quality assurance. 

Beyond professional achievements, Joseph serves as the International Membership Chair for Region 4 of NSBE, where he led initiatives that support international students in STEM. In this role he organises events and outreach programs to foster community engagement. Passionate about the potential for transformative growth in East Africa, Joseph actively participates in volunteer work focused on clean energy solutions and climate sustainability, aligning his personal interests with professional ambitions.
